Education and research interests:

I have received a Ph.D. degree in computer science from “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași, Romania, in 1993. I joined the Department of Computer Science of the university mentioned above in 1990, where I am currently a professor of computer science since Dec 1999. My research interests lie in cryptography and its applications in information security. Because I have defended my doctorate in the field of Petri nets, I am still writing, more and more rarely, papers focused on this field.
